December 3rd is our first Sunday of Advent, yay! Perhaps like me, you already have “Oh Come Oh Come Emmanuel” running through your head. This is a season of Holy Waiting. We will look at how an Advent wreath helps us orient ourselves on the journey to the manger and the good news of Christmas. After service is our UCC Advent Festival. This is such a fun event and is an opportunity to prepare our hearts and minds for the Advent Season.
We are looking for FOUR families to light the Advent Wreath candle(s) together each Sunday of Advent, including this Sunday. You are invited to share some words (either scripted or in response to a prompt) as well. If you are willing and interested, email Megan. We’d love to have you!
-Family Promise Opportunities! Tis the season for giving and sharing abundance, from one family to another. You can help by volunteering the week of December 4 to 10 (serve a meal at the Meadowlark, or prepare and donate food), and/or choose an item from the “Giving Tree” in the UCC lobby to help provide gifts, gas, or food, for a family https://www.signupgenius.com/
-“Looking ahead to 2024” meeting/survey will be postponed until after Christmas (January 7th or 21st).
-December 17th is the Christmas Pageant. All are welcome to participate in the telling of the Christmas Story, even if unable to make rehearsals. We will be practicing the coming 2 Sundays of Church School. Saturday December 16th will be our main rehearsal. Due to a time conflict with another group, we are moving the practice from 10 am to 2 pm – 3:30 pm.
