As in past years, this week the children will hide an “Alleluia” banner after our Children’s Time, since we don’t say the word Alleluia from now until Easter. For children, Lent is simply a time to get ready for Easter (what does this mean, and feel like?). In Church School, we will tell the story of the flood with our beautiful felt board characters and end outside with some movement games, weather permitting.
During Lent we will try out different ways to pray, as well as contributing to the Food Drive. We will share some Old Testament wilderness stories, tell the Passion story with our resurrection garden, and look forward with anticipation to the “Alleluias” and great celebration of Easter.
-A reminder that this Sunday, Feb 18th, after church we invite you to make “Lenten Vases.” I will also have a Lenten Spiral coloring activity for kids and families to mark the journey through Lent.
