Join us for a simple supper at 5:30 pm in the Fireside Room, followed by a half-hour service at 6:15 pm in the Sanctuary for the Wednesdays of Lent: February 21, February 28, March 6, and March 13. The service will consist of music, chants, silence, prayers of the community, and some readings. The chants are begun but not typically ‘ended’ after a set number of repetitions but rather as the Spirit moves. Please join in the chant, as you feel comfortable.
Taizé Chant, a form of meditative prayer, comes to us from an ecumenical community of religious brothers located in the eastern part of France, near Cluny. The community was begun in 1940 by Brother Roger and was made up at first of brothers from different Protestant denominations. Today it includes many Catholics as well and is a pilgrimage site especially for young adults. It continues its international emphasis and strives for communion among all.
